Although there are many languages that are spoken throughout
the world by people to convey their messages but there are only certain
languages with rich history and culture. There are only a few languages which
have a vast use in nearly all purposes of life. Arabic is one of them. With a
rich cultural and historical backing, Arabic is now one of the most widely used
language in the world. Arabic is the only way to communicate with 75%
population of gulf and Middle Eastern countries in which the native people understand
and use only one language, Arabic. Thus due to its immense importance, Arabic
is being widely all over the world and children are being taught this language
to make sure they are convenient when in the Gulf States.
Arabic has become widely important in the world in spheres of
all kinds only after 9 September 2001. This language not only gives the
glimpses of the lost writing of Greek and Roman philosophers but it also gives
a chance for scholars to read the minds of the people living in the
Mediterranean over centuries. It is due to this languages grasp that Muslim
scholars have been well liked by the Christian intelligentsia; it is a rare
compliment for these Muslim scholars as they are considered infidels by the
church.
Arabic has become an important part of education of children
in Gulf because it is the only language understood by most locals there.
Teaching Arabic to children is very important to the locals because most of the
local population is Muslim and it is very critical for Muslims to learn Arabic
as it is the language of the Holy Quran and thus it is necessary for them to
teach Arabic to their children so that the children can understand the Holy
Quran in the future. A true understanding of Quran cannot be made without
learning Arabic language.
Another Important reason for children to learn this language
is that this language is the only language understood by most locals in the
Gulf States. The states are the center of businesses and trade activities worth
billions of dollars and it is necessary for children to have know-how of this
language as it is necessary for business there.
Children should be taught Arabic language just like English;
they students of this language must be familiarized with the basic letters of
the language by using a song just like the alphabet song, the next step would
be to give recognition of main vowels to children to help the children
identify, the children must be given rows and asked to identify each. This step
will be followed by isolating all of the vowels and teaching the specific sound
of each vowel. The next step would be to teach the long vowels to children as
the must have gained understanding of short vowels, this step will be followed
by teaching gamiyah, the moon letters. Last but not the least the children must
be asked to do repetitive practice of the learnt matter so that they can have
proficiency.
Thus children can be taught this important language just with
some effort from both ends.
